We are looking for a Junior Application Engineer to join our team based in Prague. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the future of transportation. From enhancing drivability to fine-tuning emissions and aftertreatment systems, you'll support the development of passenger cars, heavy-duty vehicles, and everything in between.

  • An engineering degree in vehicle engineering, combustion engines, electrical drives, control systems or data analytics
  • A good understanding of the fundamentals of torque production
  • A data driven approach to engineering.
  • A passion for the cars and the automotive industry
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team.
  • Good English language skill

Your role will involve:

  • Vehicle development & optimisation for drivability, emissions, aftertreatment, OBD, base engine, xEV range improvements etc.
  • Development & optimisation of passenger cars, light & heavy duty vehicles, high performance vehicles, motorcycles and non-road motor vehicles (conventional as well as advanced powertrains – ICE, xHEV, BEV, H2 ICE, Fuel cells, etc.)
  • Occasional systems engineering or controls engineering tasks.
  • Test planning, test running, test quality checking for engines, vehicles, systems etc. This includes occasional climatic test trips.
  • Data analysis, reporting and data presentation to customers.
  • Daily liaison and discussion with Ricardo Engineers and customers based globally, with possible travel to those global locations.
