Job Description
Ricardo Defense is seeking a Price Estimator to price proposals in pursuit of US Government contract and task order awards. The Price Estimator coordinates with proposal team to gather all necessary data to estimate labor, material, travel, subcontracts, and other ODCs applicable to the efforts being proposed. This price Estimator will complete pricing to ensure all potential costs are covered and that target margins can be achieved. Pricing is developed in accordance with solicitation requirements and supporting documentation is recorded and maintained.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has strong work ethic, strong analytical skills, action oriented, and able to work efficiently towards challenging deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluates solicitations for all areas applicable to pricing and coordinates with the Contracts Manager to devise questions when any conflict or ambiguities are identified
- Participates in proposal development meetings
- Coordinates with Capture Manager to attain a complete Basis of Estimate for labor hour, material, subcontract, and travel requirements
- Collaborates with Capture Manager and Subcontracts Manager to develop a complete request for quotes to prospective subcontractors in accordance with all applicable purchasing requirements, including company policies and government regulations
- Develops pricing assumptions, financial summaries, cash flow analysis, and assesses risks and opportunities
- Prepares ad-hoc reports and analysis as required to present and/or respond to inquiries from the proposal team
- Maintains organized records of pricing support documentation, methodologies, and assumptions used in each proposal
- Writes detailed Cost Narratives in support of proposed prices and in accordance with solicitation requirements
- Enters and updates opportunities in Unanet system and tracking logs
- Analyzes pricing for reasonableness, to ensure all applicable costs are incorporated, and to ensure target margins can be achieved
Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing for US Government solicitations
Experience developing pricing proposals that include direct hire, existing staff, as well as subcontracted staff
Experience with developing Cost Narratives and responding to Government cost Evaluation Notices
Experience with drafting Requests for Quotes
Comprehensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and CAS regulation compliance as well as different contract types to include CPFF, FFP, FPLOE, and T&M
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, finance, or related field
Strong analytical skills
Advanced MS Excel skills
Ability to productively work independently and as part of a team to meet challenging deadlines
Action oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to obtain a Common Access Card, Government Security Clearance and maintain a clearance
Experience with DCAA audits is preferred
Experience with Unanet ERP is preferred
Experience with Pricing Tools is preferred
Experience with pricing Vehicle Integration work preferred
