Job Description

THE ROLE 

We are currently seeking a Regional Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Advisor for our business in Asia. You will act as regional advisor for all QHSE requirements and ensure they are delivered throughout the region as well as work with the QHSE Manager and local QHSE reps across our Asia offices, to identify and fulfil QHSE training throughout the Ricardo Rail business. Successful candidates will need to have prior experience of process improvement which is key to this role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand local regulatory and standards requirements and define their impact on the business;
  • Show leadership in ensuring compliance to the relevant standards, including ISO9001, ISO14000 and OSHAS18001;
  • Undertake a share of internal management system audits, as identified by the Ricardo Rail program;
  • Provision of regular status reporting to the QHSE Manager in relation to the trends, status, key issues and actions surrounding the QHSE function;
  • Day to day liaison with external certification bodies and external QHSE audit management, leading Ricardo Rail site audits with certification bodies;
  • Work with Ricardo Rail and other Ricardo process owners and line management at all levels;
  • Administer systems and tools, such as RIT, R-Ideas, incident reporting, management reviews;
  • Ensure governance, assurance and improvement of the following activities across the region;

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in QHSE focused role, preferably within the engineering domain. (consultancy or professional services is beneficial)
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • Education or experience of engineering sector (engineering degree, railway experience or similar is beneficial)
  • Relevant QHSE or Occupational Safety & Health professional qualification is a must.
  • Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate and either an environmental or quality qualification.
  • Engineering process improvement skills (six sigma - green belt or similar)
  • Working knowledge of Rail QSHE requirements - Advantage
  • Experience of internal audit
  • Experience of ISO9001,14001, OHSAS18001 (awareness of ISO17020, ISO 17065, ISO 27001 is beneficial)
