Purpose

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities at the Shoreham Technical Centre.

Including supervising and providing guidance to Maintenance, Electrical, Building Services team and admin/reception teams for the site. Delivery of Site plans, establishing and monitoring performance against set standards and controls. Ensuing all operational aspects of the Site run smoothly and any identified or escalated issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

 

Accountability

  • Ownership of the Site Management department budget, including areas for cost savings
  • Line management of the inhouse maintenance and reception team
  • Ensuring all Planned Preventive Maintenance is up to date and effective
  • Management of external contracts such as catering and security
  • Ensures Site Management compliance to ISO 45001, 27001, 9001, 14001 & 50001
  • Ensuring competency of team is kept up to date and relevant
  • Conducts regular site inspections and actioning any findings
  • Managing large capital upgrade projects such a refurbishments or new facilities
  • Management of the In and Out of Hours Emergency Response Team and ensuring sufficient rota coverage
  • Ownership of the electricity metering system, CCTV and site wide alarm system

Knowledge / Experience

  • Demonstrated significant experience in facilities and /or building maintenance on an industrial / engineering site.
  • Line management experience in managing operational and facilities teams.
  • Leading or overseeing projects with minimal guidance.
  • Good understanding of financial drivers and significant budget management experience.
  • HND or equivalent qualification in relevant trade or facilities discipline (maybe qualified by experience)
  • Membership to relevant professional organisation i.e. IWFM or similar.
  • Experience of contractor management.

  • Commercially aware and comfortable managing multi-million pound budgets.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to plan for self and the site team in the short and long term.
  • Professional with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
  • IT literate.
  • Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem solving, analytical and listening skills.
