Ricardo Defense is currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing team.  This Business Development Manager will develop and capture engineering business from defense and commercial markets.  The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing processes associated with opportunity identification, opportunity development, proposal development, and other capture activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops business development goals and objectives that are aligned with the strategic goals of the company and coordinated with the individual business groups
• Produces plans for capturing new business and marketing the capabilities of the company
• Identifies potential opportunities and leads screening process
• Leads proposals and other capture processes
• Provides reports on market conditions and makes recommendations on strategic business focus
• Assesses competitiveness of the organization
• Works with business area managers and project managers to establish plans to manage customer relationships
• Identifies strategic partners and manages process for building relationships

• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or other related field; Master’s degree preferred
• Ten years of professional experience, including five years of experience in business development and leading captures with the Department of Defense (DoD). Commercial Business Development and capture is a plus
• A record of writing winning proposals
• Established industry/market network within the core business sectors: military, aerospace, Software, Cyber Security, automotive, and energy
• Sound strategic thinker with ability to identify opportunities
• Highly professional and excellent communication skills
• Exceptional capabilities for developing communications and presentations
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to support frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel
