We are currently looking for a Procurement Assistant to join our team of buy-side contract management professionals.


This role would ideally suit someone with previous experience and/or knowledge of procurement and in particular, supply chain evaluation/assessment, but the role could also suit an individual with an administrative background as full training will be offered.


CIPS or World Commerce and Contracting (WCC) qualifications will also be offered.


Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Team are responsible for working alongside the Business Development teams, Business Managers, Finance and Project Managers to provide procurement support across the project life cycle. A key function of the team is to follow Group policy and processes with respect to the evaluation and assessment of suppliers (e.g. fit and proper persons, credit check, sustainability and modern slavery checks), and the collection and presentation of supplier information and data. 

  • Support supplier evaluations and the general management of the finance system task list.
  • Assist with the twice-yearly reviews of suppliers that have already been assessed for IR35 compliance.
  • Support the business with supplier liaison on straightforward tenders - issuing evaluation questionnaires and commercial specifications.
  • Offer staff support with queries around the published guidance procedures and overarching policy.
  • Assist with raising requisitions and supplier requests.


Skills and behaviours 

  • Ideally experience of procurement but this is not essential as full training will be given.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Proficient levels of written, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver to sometimes challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to work with financial systems and essential office software (in particular, Word and Excel).
