We are currently looking for an expert in Renewable Energy Advisory to join our Sustainable Energy Systems team. 

  

The team
The Sustainable Energy Systems (SES) team comprises a group of highly experienced professionals specialising in techno-economic, engineering and management consultancy services for the energy sector, with particular emphasis on the power and hydrogen sectors. We cover power generation and transmission planning, electricity tariff and affordability studies, renewable energy integration, regulation, policy, and networks. We are a committed team of like-minded professionals with a growing portfolio of energy technology, policy and strategy projects.

 

The role will primarily serve SES’s Renewable Energy Implementation team supporting developers, investors and energy users in technical due diligence, technical advice, feasibility and construction of solar PV, wind generation and battery storage technology. Projects are both in the UK and overseas – PP&S has undertaken assignments in nearly 100 countries, including both developed, emerging and developing economies across all 5 continents. We have a broad range of clients, including developers / investors, private companies, electricity companies, railway companies, airports, governments, regulators and multi-lateral lending agencies.

 

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate must have a track record in renewables implementation with a particular focus on growing our portfolio of technical advisory and due diligence roles for planned and operational portfolios. As a senior member of the financial services team, you will play an influential role in delivering our growth plan through managing or overseeing projects which delight the client, business development, inputting to strategic decision making and growing the team.

 

We play people to their strengths so you will support the project implementation team (from feasibility, concept design and connections through to construction and commissioning) and you can expand your horizons by taking the opportunity to work on Planning and Regulation, Networks or Hydrogen projects. you will take responsibility for delivering to the highest standards whether as a project manager, technical expert or delivering the financial services business plan.

 

You will be confident in front of clients and senior management and your reports are clear and easy to read. You will work collaboratively with a wide range of experts from across the company and in partner organisations. You will be able to travel to sites in the UK and overseas when required.

Key competencies and experience

  • Significant and demonstrable experience in:
  • delivering technical and transaction advice / due diligence on PV, wind, BESS and grid connections for the financial sector
  • renewable energy infrastructure implementation, system design, preparing/reviewing employers requirements and specifications.
  • New business development through both internal and external networks
  • Experience writing proposals and winning energy consultancy projects.
  • A strong degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Numerate and comfortable building models in Excel and preparing professional reports in Word or PowerPoint
  • Build the Ricardo brand through breaking down complex questions, thinking creatively, solving novel problems and managing complex projects to a successful conclusion.
  • Demonstrable communication skills tailored to the audience (e.g., senior management and clients).
  • Be proactive, ready to help and willing to support junior members of the team.

Fluency in English is essential.
