Electrical/ICT Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly capable Electrical/ICT Engineer to support our rapidly growing business. Ricardo Rail Australia is a premium provider of engineering services, with the expertise and technical capabilities to devise innovative solutions to our clients’ transport project challenges.


MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support for on Train Management System, CCTV, Passenger Information System and ATP (Digital Systems);
  • Provide support for on-board Train Management System and on-board ETCS;
  • Provide rolling stock technical advice to client during the testing and delivery phase;
  • Review technical submissions for compliance in accordance with the contract throughout the delivery phase;
  • Attend site to provide advice on technical matters;
  • Participate in Testing and Commissioning activities as required;
  • Support the development of operational performance regimes;
  • Support develop the Minimum Operating Standards for rolling stock;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business needs are satisfied;
  • Support the development of new business for Ricardo Rail Australia (e.g. new tenders and opportunities);
  • Support the development of company systems and processes (e.g. for ASA AEO);
  • Abide by applicable workplace health and safety policies and procedures; and
  • Any other duty assigned to you having regard to your skills, training and experience.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar; and
  • 5 – 10 years electrical engineering experience, with proven experience with rolling stock.


TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Familiarity and understanding of international and domestic rolling stock standards;
  • System integration experience;
  • ERTMS/ETCS experience desirable;
  • Experience in testing and commissioning of rolling stock; and
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).


SOFT SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Can plan and prioritise work activities to work collaboratively and deliver results to meet tight deadlines.
