Job Description

Ricardo Defense is seeking an experienced Software Developer to add to our growing software team. This Software Developer position is in Troy, MI. This Software Developer will manage the execution of software development and sustainment projects supporting our Department of Defense (DoD) customers. This Software Developer opportunity allows for remote work but may require work in our office for various items from time to time.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of software product development, from requirements definition, through product delivery, and into a long-term sustainment phase.
  • Monitor and address product security issues surfaced by HP Fortify, AS&D Checklist reviews, and other security  products and processes.
  • Work closely with our customer to define and document project requirements.
  • Maintain product models in Enterprise Architect or a similar tool, as required.
  • Create and update product documentation artifacts such as user guides, administrator guides, and release notes.
  • Perform presentations and product demonstrations for our customer and their customers.
  • Work closely with our customer and the customer’s Sustainment Team to provide a rapid support response when software issues are identified in the production environment.
  • Develop detailed project schedules to align with contract deliverable dates, sprint plans, and staffing resource requirements.
  • Coordinate staff assignments.
  • Monitor and report status to customers and internal management.
  • Engage with executive level customer leadership in strategic briefings, planning, and negotiations.
  • Work closely with other Software Development Leads to identify opportunities for increased process efficiency, code and      module sharing, standardization, and integration.
  • Identify and follow industry best practices where applicable.
  • Monitor and identify future software directions, trends, and technologies.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of study.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government Secret Security Clearance and a Common Access Card (CAC) is      required.
  • A Minimum of 5 years working on cross-platform desktop applications using Electron/Web technologies
  • Software development and enterprise software integration experience using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web services, and Microsoft .NET.
  • Experience with the Polymer/LitElement and Electron frontend framework.
  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, and SQL.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQLite.
  • Experience with Entity Framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft Build Tools and other build frameworks (e.g., Nant)
  • Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, and Git.
  • Experience with data architectures, database design, and data integration using entity relationship modeling.
  • Experience creating UML behavioral diagrams, including Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, and Sequence Diagrams.
  • Experience working within Agile software development teams.
  • Comfortable interfacing with Government representatives and other Customers, Suppliers, Corporate Management and      company staff.
  • Strong technical and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
