Job Description

We are looking for a Systems Business Manager with a strong background in data management, reporting, and analytics. This Systems Business Manager will have the skill to test and implement solutions; a thought leader capable of translating their experiences to vision, someone with a passion to improve the financial and project reporting system environment; a critical-thinker capable of employing methods and developing processes that help people succeed. We need someone who can think critically through a problem and develop solutions. A doer, someone who measures success on the level of comfort they can deliver to others knowing that their knowledge and expertise with financial systems and reporting tools have helped solve someone’s problem. 

Ideally, this Systems Business Manager candidate has expert level understanding of the needs and requirements of an organization as it relates to the generation and use of financial systems and information for managing project and business financial analytics and reporting. The perfect Systems Business Manager candidate has advanced an organizations technology through integration of new systems while managing upgrades and changes to existing systems and has a clear understanding of the needs of financial and managerial accounting information in a project-based service and manufacturing/production hybrid environment. More so, a candidate that understands the standards (CAS) and regulations (FAR/DFAR) that shape our structure and compliance as a Defense contractor, is a benefit that would help keep our systems and processes grounded when audited by the Government. 

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership as the systems administrator, develop and oversee the policies and processes for the creation, review, and audit of all data within the financial system(s); including project and account additions, organization and structure changes, and systems roles and accesses
  • Lead integration and administration of the Finance and Accounting technology systems, partnering with local and corporate Finance, Project leadership, and HR to deliver world-class systems integrations and reporting of financial and managerial data
  • Support internal and external audit, including audit by federal agencies of our financial systems and processes
  • Conduct requirements gathering activities and stakeholder interviews as needed
  • Design and validate solutions and coordinate with partners for alignment with goals
  • Review current department reporting, identify opportunities for improvement and execute
  • Identify and understand reporting needs and design and implement solutions
  • Support ad hoc queries and other requests as needed 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, Data Analytics or related field including 5 years of financials systems responsibilities
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC) if required
  • Proven capability of implementing and optimizing financial systems 
  • Ability to understand and manage technical systems
  • Data extraction, analysis, and reporting experience with complex ERP systems
  • Very high attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of financial concepts, including how operating budgets are created
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to Business and Technical associates
  • Demonstrated ability to track and drive initiatives to successful completion
  • Eager to learn with a proven track record of self-learning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines Education and Certification
  • Experience with Unanet ERP, Mosaic and Paylocity integration, and/or Tagetik is a plus
