Job Description

Ricardo Defense is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Lean Leader in our Sterling Heights, MI facility to support the plant manager to assure each work station has proper staffing, materials, and work orders. This Manufacturing Lean Leader will continuously coordinate plant workflow from incoming materials to outbound shipments. This role will also be critical for continuous improvement activity and will be instrumental in supporting the establishment of assembly processes, workflows, station layout and new employee training. This Manufacturing Lean Leader will be required to perform a wide variety of tasks. This role will need to operate and excel in an environment with changing conditions and customer demands. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously coordinate and optimize workflows to support customer demand
  • Coordinate assembly staff 
  • Support and perform plant functions as needed; assembly, inventory control, receiving, shipping, QC and material handling 
  • Work with plant supervision to optimize work station activity and overall plant flow based on Lean principles 
  • Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities
  • Identify and support resolution for problems with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to supervision
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance
  • High school diploma/GED and 2 years of related experience
  • Proficient with forklift operation
  • Ability to read manufacturing documents such as prints, work instructions and safety rules 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a team based environment
  • Strong, organizing, prioritizing, communication, written and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of best practice processes
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced and high pressure environment
  • Customer focused, consistently placing client as top priority
