Within that group, Ricardo Rail is a 600-person multi-disciplinary railway consultancy providing expert advisory and independent assurance services across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia. The UK business employs c120 consultants in offices in London, Preston, York, Bristol and Derby.

Role

We are looking for a person to join the Ricardo Rail Division Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) team, reporting to the Global HSEQ Manager with a separate indirect report to the Certification Manager.

 

This role is expected to be split 50:50 between supporting the HSEQ team and supporting the Ricardo Certification (RC) management team. Some duties are administrative/clerical which includes liaison with external audit organisations, while others include acting as a member of the HSEQ team supporting the wider business.

 

The preferred work location is York, although this is not essential, with some travel to London and Derby and occasional internal auditing duties at any of our overseas locations.

 

 

 

This person needs to be able to learn quickly about the Rail Division Management System (RDMS) including the systems and processes applied by RC. This person shall be very proficient in MS Office tools and working with bespoke and on-line systems in general and must be able to communicate effectively in English.

 

The individual must be energetic, keen to learn, mentally adept, confident with communicating with others and building relationships, able to manage a diverse workload for multiple people and priorities, able to identify improvements and communicate these for consideration – possibly degree qualified in a non-technical discipline. Previous Quality Management System (QMS) and audit experience valuable.

 

Supporting accreditations and general admin/management for RC

Supporting the Certification Manager with the relationships with multiple external Accreditation Bodies
Managing external audit dates, arranging staff to support these, managing findings and coordinating their closure
Coordinating changes to RC RDMS documents, coordinating with Domain (individual RC service) Owners for updates to ensure that documents are aligned, updated, signed and released on the RDMS
Attending the Certification Manager’s monthly calls, taking actions as necessary
Attending the Lead Ricardo Certification Signatories (RCS) monthly calls, and taking actions as necessary
Coordination of RC training needs, arranging training sessions and updating training documents (under direction from the Domain Owners)
Supporting the Lead RCS in the ongoing update and control of the certificate and report log, and the processing of accredited deliverables in support of global RCSs

 

HSEQ (under the direction of the HSEQ Manager)

HSEQ improvement project delivery
Managing external audit dates, arranging staff to support these, managing findings until closure
Managing document control process and issue of documents
Mapping and updating of ISO standards
Process mapping of procedures
Production of reports and stats to support monthly upwards reporting
Coordination/production of posters and other promotional material for HSEQ
Coordination of general HSEQ document updates. e.g. ensure HSE plans are in date and chase when reviews are due
Organising/coordinating HSEQ training
Conduct internal audits as required

 

Ricardo Compliance Tool (RCT)

Supporting the Lead RCS with the management and update of the Standards Library held in RCT and work with the global standards community
Manage templates held in the RCT library
