Job Description

Position Summary:

Commercial lead(s) for Ricardo Software sales growth in the North American territory for the Automotive, Industrial and/or Off-Highway sectors (Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, Marine, Power Generation & Industrial markets). This role engages in direct sales activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the primary Ricardo Software commercial contact for existing and new customers in the defined product line & region
  • Account management, including regular visits to key customers to provide product updates and maintain customer relations (building trust with our customers)
  • Has the market, customer and product expertise required to formulate and execute a custom business plan
  • Generates new leads via Ricardo Software marketing activities, leveraging partnerships, and general customer contact
  • Manages direct sales inquiries in the region
  • Coordinates customer visits by Ricardo Software staff and/or distributors. Coordinates marketing activities for the defined product line & region
  • Secondary role: when appropriate provides direct technical support and/or training to customers

Responsibilities:

  • Attends commercial reviews and reports information for the product line & region
  • Manages & maintains Ricardo Software CRM (Gimli) leads ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Delivers proposals and follows-up through the purchase process to secure purchase orders (and Master License Agreements)
  • Creates and maintains commercial plans for the defined product line & region, including target customer lists, marketing actions and jointly forecasting Order Intake with Product Managers and Global EVP Business Development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sales or related field
  • Background in simulation tools or software sales a plus
  • Strategic selling & negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to develop new customers
  • Demonstrated market knowledge
  • Strong customer connections (key staff, organization structures)
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and communication skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic and matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Power Point
